| Countryside Council for Wales | Evaluation of a computer interactive |
| <back | |
The Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) owns and/or manages 68 National Nature Reserves (NNRs) and, as part of its Corporate Plan objectives, aims to provide levels of facilities at these reserves that will give visitors an enjoyable, valuable and sustainable experience. Ynyslas is one of the few NNRs with a visitor centre and it recently had a new computer interactive installed. Research was needed to evaluate and understand how well the interactive was performing, not only to help identify how the interactive might be improved, but also to help CCW make more informed decisions about how the technology could be used at other sites. The evaluation took the form of observations of visitors
using the interactive combined with intercept interviews to find out
what people had made of it. The research identified the benefits that
this type of exhibit offers to Reserve visitors and flagged up a number
of issues where improvements to the exhibit would result in an improved
experience. |
